Escapando el finde take part in the first Mountaineering Race in Castle Mountain Race on the 12th of January 2013. It was a really fantastic race with 28 registered and two category Competitive and Recreational.
Escapando el finde participo en la 1º Carrera de esqui de Montaña en Castle Mountain resort el 12 de Enero del 2013. Fue una carrera en la que participaron 28 corredores en dos categoria Competitive y Recreational.
Excellent organization by the Alpine Club of Canada and special Brent Harris. During the race we have a perfect weather with sunny time, no wind and super cold over -23ºC so the snow was awesome. The course had a super nice itinerary, starting at the base of the resort 1410 meter geting to the North Peak 2345 m, walking down and up the risk to the top of Red Chair. After that a spectacular decent on Lona Star to get again to the top of Huckelberry Chair ( recreational ) or to the top of Cat Ski Area ( competitive).We finish with a nice run to the base of the resort again.
Recreational 10 km 1220 m up and down
Competitive 13 km 1550 m up and down
Excelente organización por parte del el Alpine Club of Canada y especialmente de Brent Harris. Durante la carrera el tiempo fue perfecto con sol, nada de viento y bastante frío, rondando lo -23ºC, así que la nieve esta impresionante. La carrera tuvo un lindo recorrido, empezando en la base de la estación a 14010 m para subir a North Peak a 2345m , para seguir caminando y con esquís a la espalda por vértice hasta mas arriba de la silla roja. Después de un espectacular descenso por Lona Star había que subir hasta la silla de Huckelberry (recreational) o la parte alta del Cat Ski area ( competitive). La carrera terminaba con una linda bajada hasta la base.
After the race we have a friendly prize award with good food and drinks.
Después de la carrera hubo una linda reunión con entrega de premios, comida y bebida.
